In the 1990s, Chidambaram Group formed its first international collaboration with the SMAG Group. SMAG, headquartered in Salzgitter, is a global leader in the production of Lifting Equipment for Material Handling and Special Purpose Machines. The Group's competitive edge stems from its exceptional, industry-leading products, a strong global salesforce, and comprehensive service offerings. SMAG currently employs approximately 750 people in various locations across the globe. While Chidambaram Group began as a Service Partner with SMAG, the partnership soon grew to include Sales and Service, and by 2012 the Chidambaram Group entered into a JV arrangement for setting up a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in India.
Chidambaram Group has a long-standing sales and service partnership with Optimarin AS, a Norway based group. The partnership which started in the late 1990’s has been growing steadily with the focus being on selling and servicing Optimarin’s ballast water treatment systems. With over 1400 installations on various sizes and types of vessels, Optimarin is the world's leading UV + Filtration based BWTS technology firm.
From 2007 through 2015, Chidambaram Group was an authorised dealer for Volvo Penta Marine Propulsion Engines, Genset Engines, Spare Parts, and Accessories, resulting in a fruitful collaboration.
